BOW MATE – OPERATION & SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

The Bow Mate Intended Use

The Bow Mate is designed for use on pontoon boats to provide a bow-mounted boarding and water access platform when the vessel is stationary, anchored, or beached.

It must not be used while the vessel is underway.

Operation Requirements

Before use, ensure:

The platform is fully locked in the deployed position
All users understand proper deployment and stowage
The vessel is securely anchored or beached before loading

Load Limit

Maximum load: 500 lbs (225 kg), distributed load only
Maximum occupancy: 3 persons

Do not exceed stated limits.

Safety Warnings

Do not use while vessel is underway
Do not jump or dive from the platform
Do not use in rough water or high wake conditions
Keep clear of pinch points during deployment and stowage
Ensure clearance from docks, boats, and structures when deployed

Trailer & Transport

Bow Mate must be fully stowed before:

trailering
launching
retrieval

Do not float vessel onto trailer with Bow Mate deployed.

Docking & Clearance Awareness

The Bow Mate changes the forward footprint of the vessel.

Users must account for extended corners when docking, maneuvering, or approaching other objects.

Installation (See instructions below)

Install only according to provided instructions using factory tie-down points.

No drilling or permanent modification of the vessel is required.

Important Notice

Users are responsible for proper installation and safe operation in accordance with provided instructions and applicable boating regulations.

Step by Step Removal Instructions

Position 2 adults at ONE end of THE BOW MATE.
lightly lift the end and remove Hinge Pin from THE BOW MATE.
ONE adult now supports the removed side of THE BOW MATE.
Lightly lift the opposite side of THE BOW MATE and remove the Hinge Pin.
Both adults carefully lift or lower and remove THE BOW MATE from its installed position.
Install and Un-install THE BOW MATE repeatedly to safely understand the complete process.

Step by Step Installation Instructions

Remove Hinge Pins from THE BOW MATE.
Using 2 adults (1 at each end) lift THE BOW MATE safely into position.
Align One Side ONLY with Pontoon Boat Eyelet, Install and secure Hinge Pin.
Align opposite side with Pontoon Boat Eyelet. Install and secure Hinge Pin.
IF boat is IN the water, Raise and Lower THE BOW MATE to become familiar with the full range of motion, and practice securing to Forward top door frame area.
IF boat is ON it’s trailer, you will NOT be able to Raise and Lower THE BOW MATE.
Install and Uninstall THE BOW MATE repeatedly to safely understand the complete process.

Do Not Anchor or Moor Labels

DO NOT USE AS ANCHOR OR MOORING POINT
Bow Mate is not designed or rated for load-bearing tie-off.

Your Bow Mate Safety Instructions

Maximum Load = 3 Adults or 500lbs / 225kg.
THE BOW MATE is NOT intended for trailered use.
Do NOT float pontoon boat onto trailer with THE BOW MATE down.
When in a DOWN or UP position, the corners of THE BOW MATE are in an extended and new location. Bumping into Docks, Marinas, Boats or objects can and will cause damage to THE BOW MATE, Docks, Marinas, Boats & objects
Practice repeatedly the Install and Uninstall process before boating.
NEVER use THE BOW MATE in a down position when under power.
ALWAYS stow The Bow Mate in a secured UP position when underway.
Do NOT use THE BOW MATE as a jumping, diving or recreational platform. Injuries or death can occur.
Do NOT tie off anchor to Eyelet or Cleat or THE BOW MATE Hinge Pins or damage to THE BOW MATE & your pontoon boat can occur.
